The program will also match the duration of the slideshow program you created to the length of time of the selected audio track automatically by using the "match duration to audio" option.įM integrates seamlessly with all of the programs in iLife. I don't like that though so I import the selected audio file into GarageBand and adjust the fade out. Far better as a simple fix in my opinion than having the music just keep playing or cut off at normal volume. As I am sure you have seen there are many simple conversion programs, often freeware, that are available to do that.įor those that have not tried FotoMagico, what happens is this: When you attach an audio stream the slideshow ends with the audio quickly fading down in volume. They often provide a selection of the video playback multiple sizes for different web connections.Ĭonverting QT.mov files to flash works great too.

You see this on all the movie trailers online from major studios as well. Obviously with the larger the video files the viewer must wait a few seconds for it to stream before playing or it will freeze up. While the ideal video for streaming is around 10 MB, which is approximately a 30-40 image show, I have videos from 7 MB all the way up to 140 MB and viewers do not seem to have a problem with them. I'm converting my fotoMagico output to Flash and reposting.Ĭan you elaborate? I export my shows using the high quality H.264 codec and post them on my site. The fade out on that program is heavy handed though. repeating intros & instrumental passages to suit.

I have a full ProTools rig, so audio is no problem. One of the reasons that i still keep a windows machine around.so that I can run ProShow Gold! I also am quite unimpressed with iPhoto.not nearly enough control.
#FOTOMAGICO 3 WILL NOT RUN TRIAL#
I guess I need to re-visit Fotomagico again.I downloaded the trial and tried, i really found it totally unintuitive.Could not get any satisfaction with it. I use GarageBand for music transitions then export the track back into iTunes and on to FotoMagico. Whish they had a better fade out and fade in for music tracks though. Hi, Rick, I use Fotomagico for all my slide show. It is superior to iPhoto in many ways, one being that it does not lower the resolution of your images. You'll need a newer Mac running OS X 10.3 or newer and QT 6 or 7.Īt only $79 (or $99 with my tutorials) it's a great program. You can also download the demo and try it.

The software is very easy to use but have learned many little tricks and I created 8 tutorial videos to help the photographer quick-start his slideshow production. Shameless plug: I like the program so well and it was so unfamilar here in the states that I worked out a marketing relationship with them. ProShow slideshows will not play on a Mac.
It integrates seamlessly with iLife and exports shows as QT.mov files which will play on any web browser. Great for wedding receptions or bridal shows, studio displays, etc. Display resolution (full screen) on any monitor. HD (yes, HIgh Def.) DVDs (You'll need a HD TV and a HD DVD player to see the full quality)Ħ.
It's an incredible software program that will create slideshows with Ken Burns effects and music (even multiple songs in any length) in any export format you want:ġ. Many happy people including me!Īctually, I think it is the PC folks that are handicapped, not the Mac folks.Ĭheck out FotoMagico. I make the slide show, export to iDVD and burn from there with menus and music and transitions etc. But have you tried iPhoto? I've used for a bunch of slide shows of mine and I quite like.
Ok, well, take this one with a grain of salt as I am no wedding photographer nor a pro. So Mac users I ask you, what software do you use to create gorgeous slideshows for DVD? iDVD? FinalCut Pro? I bumped into this yet again today when doing some research into ProShow Gold. We Mac users are handicapped in many ways.
